Schedule Of Donald Trump
President Donald Trump’s Inauguration Day schedule
*All times eastern
8:30 a.m. — Trump’s family will enjoy a private breakfast, followed by a prayer service at Washington’s St. John’s Episcopal Church — where every president since James Madison has attended.
9:30 a.m. — President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama will host the Trumps for tea and coffee at that White House before travelling together to the Capitol Building. Meanwhile, Inauguration Day ceremonies will begin, with classical crossover singer Jackie Evancho, 16, performing the Star Spangled Banner and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir singing America the Beautiful.
11:30 a.m. — Readings and opening remarks on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol Building continue, followed by V-P-elect Mike Pence being sworn in — on Ronald Reagan’s bible — by Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.
12 p.m. — President Trump takes the oath of office. The 45th president will be sworn in on two bibles — Abraham Lincoln’s and one his mother gave him in 1955 — by Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts. He’ll then deliver his inaugural address in front of nearly one million spectators.
12:30 p.m. — Trump and Pence will attend a congressional lunch inside the Capitol Building.
3-5 p.m. — The Inaugural Parade will follow Trump and Pence from the Capitol to the White House. There will be approximately 8,000 participants in the parade — which stretches roughly 2.5 kilometres down Pennsylvania Ave.
7-11 p.m. — Trump and Pence are scheduled to attend three balls — including the Liberty and Freedom Ball at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, and the Salute to Our Armed Services Ball being staged at the National Building Museum
