Changes In The Kenya Government
Kenya's President Uhuru Kenyatta has moved Health Principal Secretary Nicholas Muraguri to the Lands ministry in a wide range of changes to his government.
Dr Muraguri was at the centre of a controversy that saw Kenyan doctors boycott work for about three months.
A statement issued by the State House Spokesperson said the changes were part of the continuing endeavour by the Jubilee Administration to improve the efficiency of public service delivery to Kenyans.
"The President has purposed the changes to enhance teamwork and to improve the accountability for results in the execution of the Government’s responsibilities," read the statement.
Others affected include Mr Richard Ekai, who moves from the Sports Development to the Correctional Services docket, and Mr Saitoti Torome, from Planning and Statistics to the Defence ministry.
Mr Irungu Nyakera from the Transport ministry takes over from Mr Torome.
